Valerie Scarfone is an experienced health care leader in NE Ontario. Currently working as a Director in the home care sector, Valerie was Executive Director of NE Specialized Geriatric Centre, a program of Health Sciences North (2013-2022) and the Interim Co-Executive Director for the Provincial Geriatric Leadership office. She has worked as a Senior Consultant with the NELHIN and was the Chief Executive Officer of ICAN (Independence Centre and Network).
A graduate of the Master of Arts Leadership program with a health specialization (Royal Road University), Valerie holds a BA in Sociology from Laurentian University and a Human Resources Certificate from Queen’s. Valerie is a member of the Canadian College of Health Care leaders and holds a Certified Health (CHE) designation. Throughout the past 25 years, Valerie has served on many boards and has gained a vast knowledge of governance. Most recently she served as a special advisor for strategic planning with the Sudbury Nurse Practitioners Clinic’s Board of Directors.
