Project Timeline: Release of Strategy: Fall 2021

EAPO is partnering with the Canadian Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (CNPEA) and other stakeholders to create a Pan-Canadian Strategy to increase the prevention of elder abuse.

We are developing a Roadmap with multiple entry points to allow stakeholders and communities to figure out where they are and where they need to go to improve their approach to prevention. It will be designed to help you take action, anywhere you are in the country and in the system, and to work together as partners to address the issue early before it becomes violence.

This project is supported by the Department of Justice Victims’ Fund.

For the past few months, EAPO has been hard at work on this project with the Canadian Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (CNPEA), the Centre for Research and Education on Violence against Women and Children (CREVAWC), the National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly (NICE), CanAge, the Canadian Centre for Elder Law (CCEL), Egale Canada, and the International Longevity Centre Canada (ILC Canada). We are also consulting with provincial and territorial stakeholders to
inform the work. Watch for the launch of our strategy this Fall.
