Angela Salmon, B.A., J.D.
Angela Salmon is an accomplished business leader with over 20 years experience in legal, risk management, compliance, and regulatory strategy. Currently, she leads RBC’s HR Risk Governance & Controls team, overseeing HR’s global second line of defense risk oversight function. In this role, Angela drives centralized People Risk monitoring, policy creation, control design, and reporting across the enterprise. With 17 years of experience at RBC, she has held progressively senior roles in Law Group, Wealth Management Compliance, and Personal Banking credit. Prior to joining RBC, Angela practiced securities law at a global bank and an international law firm.
A passionate advocate for the rights of older adults, Angela served on the OSC’s Seniors Expert Advisory Committee for four years. She also founded RBC’s Seniors & Vulnerable Clients working group, which reviews regulations and develops policies, guidance, and training to protect senior investors.
Committed to community service, Angela actively volunteers for charitable organizations, mentors junior professionals, and supports her children’s athletic pursuits. She holds a law degree from the University of Toronto, a Financial & Economic Studies degree from Western University, and is a member of the Ontario bar.
