Recognition Award Ceremony & webinar Recognizing Vulnerable Victims’ Needs through the Court Process
EAPO presented their “Recognition Award for the Prevention of Elder Abuse” to individuals who demonstrated outstanding dedication and leadership in their communities, toward enhancing the response and assistance to older adults living at-risk or experiencing abuse. If you have been a victim or witnessed a crime, and criminal charges have been laid, you will likely be required to attend court. The experience can often be difficult and confusing, particularly if you are vulnerable or have special needs. Nadine Prince, Manager, Victim Witness Assistance Program, York Region Ministry of the Attorney General, highlighted how the Victim Witness Assistance Program can assist older adults going through the court process.
