Giving Tuesday: You can help change the lives of over 200,000 vulnerable seniors in Ontario
This Giving Tuesday, YOU can help change the lives of over 200,000 vulnerable seniors in Ontario alone, who are at-risk or experiencing abuse.
At Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario (EAPO), we know that this is an often ‘hidden crime’, particularly since 93% of seniors reside in the community. With the ongoing impacts of the global pandemic, many continue to experience social isolation and are more vulnerable to mistreatment and abuse, behind closed doors. Over the course of the C-19 pandemic, there has been a 250% increase in elder abuse cases, many of which are complex in nature.
But that can CHANGE with your help.
Through your generosity, you will be supporting EAPO’s mandate to help raise public awareness, empowering seniors with information and prevention strategies, that WILL help safeguard their well-being, whether physical, emotional or financial.
EAPO works collaboratively with many senior serving agencies and community partners, including almost 40 local area elder abuse prevention networks, to build capacity across Ontario. Each network and its volunteer membership, are committed to Stopping the Abuse and Restoring Respect, because we believe ALL seniors deserve to live free from abuse and harm.
TOGETHER we CAN make a difference, so that ALL seniors in Ontario can live free from abuse, have a strong voice, feeling safe and respected!
So whether $5 or $500, or taking 5 minutes to help spread the word – your gift will help us improve the quality of life of so many seniors in Ontario!
