Strategies for Personal & Collective Care in Challenging Times
This workshop provided a greater understanding of the fundamentals of trauma (brain, body, nervous system). Faciliator, Karine Silverwoman, explored how our own lived experiences impact our work and how structural oppression intersects with trauma-informed practice. Ms Silverwoman explored what vicarious trauma is and how to develop meaningful self-care approaches from a trauma-informed lens and we will consider the intersections of trauma and oppressions, as well as body-centred tools to ground ourselves.
This workshop was part of the many EAPO planned activities, being organized in recognition of Victims and Survivors of Crime Week.
