Join the movement and we encourage you to do the following on June 15th:
- Show your support by wearing something purple to raise awareness of elder abuse, neglect and exploitation. We associate the color purple with dignity, respect and royalty.
- Wearing purple on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is another reminder of how we need to treat our seniors with respect and dignity.
- Create an Awareness Display using Purple Balloons
- Create an awareness display with the enclosed balloons and stickers.
- Take a selfie to show your support for seniors, include something purple in the picture and share it on social media with Hashtag #WEAAD to promote and spread awareness.
Activities will take place in various businesses, schools, agencies, service clubs in the District of Temiskaming.
There will also be Municipal Proclamations for WEAAD in Temiskaming Shores, Cobalt, Englehart and Temagami.

Elementary students will engage answering the following question on preventing elder abuse, "WE CAN STOP ELDER ABUSE BY..."
